The "Panama hat" museum and work shops where "Toquilla straw hats" are finalized and sold. These hats are one of the main export products of the Azuay province and are world famous. The workshop people receive the woven but unfinished hats, press them into shapes and add some particularities. The hat is erroneously called Panama hat, because the hats were first shipped through Panama on their way to their final destination.
